Recent events of children deaths due to natural disaster and man made disasters like, building collapse, wall collapse, fire accidents, stampede, venturing in flooded zone, etc. brings the need to be continually vigilant, to ensure safety for children and students. The event that unfolded in the Kumbakonam fire tragedy in Tamil Nadu, which took 93 children to the jaws of death, the recent flood that captured the city of Mumbai in July 2005, for more than twelve hours, the earthquake in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, are all eye openers, and it screams loud and clear, that it is high time we should have something called Disaster Management for Kids. Where each and every child is able to take care of themselves.
